One card.
Multiple loyalty programs.
You choose which programs to offer. Customers choose where their card earns: one program, or a split across several. Adding a partner is a setting, not a new launch, and Cosmo provides the partner contracts, integration and settlement.
Multibrand · Split rewards
What is Multibrand?
Multibrand is Cosmo's patented technology that lets one card earn across several loyalty programs at once. The issuer offers airline, hotel and retail programs from the Cosmo network. Each cardholder picks one program or a split across several, and can change it at any time through Cosmo's embeddable widget or the issuer's own interface built on the Cosmo API. A two-program version, the dual co-brand, lets an issuer launch one card with two loyalty partners. Cosmo provides the partner contracts, integration and settlement behind every program.
Earning that follows the customer.
One card, every enabled program
One physical or digital card that earns in every program the issuer enables.
Loyalty profiles
Customers choose where to earn, one program or a split across several. The card applies it automatically.
Simultaneous earning
A single transaction can accrue to several programs at once, split by the member's own allocation.
Consolidated settlement
However many programs a transaction touches, the issuer settles one position covering all of them.
From integration to earning, in three steps.
Integrate once
Integrate with the Cosmo REST API and embed the Multibrand widget. Minimal engineering for full network access.
Enable programs
Select which network programs your card supports, from the partner dashboard. A configuration, not a launch.
Customers choose where they earn
Every transaction earns according to the customer's loyalty profile — across each enabled program, automatically.
What happens when a Multibrand cardholder sets a split?
An issuer enables four programs from the network on its card. A cardholder opens the issuer's app and decides to earn 60% in an airline program and 40% in a hotel program.
- 1
The issuer opens the preferences surface
Either the embeddable Multibrand widget, authorised with a short-lived widget token, or the issuer's own interface built on the same API.
POST /v1/auth/widget/multibrand - 2
The cardholder picks a split
The customer links their airline and hotel memberships and sets the allocation. The split is stored against the card and can be changed at any time; the next purchase uses the new split.
PUT /program-connections { allocations: [60%, 40%] } - 3
Each purchase earns in both programs
A single transaction accrues to the airline and the hotel at once, in the proportions the cardholder chose. The issuer makes one call; Cosmo issues into both programs.
POST /transactions (split applied by Cosmo) - 4
Adding a fifth program is a setting
The issuer enables another network program from the portal. No new integration, no new card product; cardholders simply see one more option.
Portal: enable program
However many programs a month of transactions touched, the issuer settles one position covering all of them. Multibrand is protected by US patent 12,597,048 B2.
Multibrand, answered.
What is a multibrand card?
A multibrand card earns rewards across several loyalty programs instead of just one. The issuer enables the programs, and the cardholder chooses where the card earns: one program, or split across several.
Is Cosmo's Multibrand technology patented?
Yes. Cosmo's Multibrand technology is patented in the United States under US 12,597,048 B2, titled Loyalty rewards exchange systems and methods and assigned to Cosmopoints Loyalty Tech Ltd. The patent is public on Google Patents.
How do I add a new loyalty program to a multibrand card?
You select which network programs your card supports from the Cosmo partner dashboard. Adding a program already on the network is a configuration, not a launch.
How do cardholders choose where their card earns?
Through Cosmo's embeddable Multibrand widget, or through the issuer's own interface built on the Cosmo API. Either way, cardholders set their earning preferences across the programs the issuer has enabled.
The programs your
customers love. One card.
Give cardholders the rewards they actually want, without a new integration for each program.
